Special order organic cotton puffin tea towel and turned spurtle.
A Spurtle is a traditional Scottish cooking utensil for stirring Porridge but equally useful for soups, stews and well, anything really because if you have never used one before you'll quickly discover it is the most useful implement you never knew you needed.
These spurtles are made from locally sourced timber currently wind felled Damson from Wooler.
I turn these on a traditional pole (foot powered) lathe giving them a beautiful tactile quality.
And of course being natural timber each one is an individual.
They are finished with a foodsafe coconut oil and beeswax polish. Hand wash and occasionally re-oil and your Spurtle will reward you with years of creamy porridge.
