hare in winter
sycamore cooking spoon
A hand carved round cooking spoon for everyday use, the kind of spoon that becomes so familiar that you find yourself reaching for it without even thinking. Sycamore is a timber traditionally used for all kinds of kitchen and dairy ware. This timber came from a sawmill nearby in Abbey St. Bathans and came from their own woodland. It is a lovely pale cream occasionally flecked with darker areas.
Being hand carved the size and grain pattern will vary from spoon to spoon but are on average around 25cm long by 6cm in width (9.5 x 2 1/2 inches) approx.
Finished in my own food safe veganfriendly polish. Simply hand wash after use and re-oil occasionally with your favourite food safe oil such as walnut if it feels a bit dry.
